Born in 1976 in Abymes, Guadeloupe, young Jabe moved to Paris at the age of 16 to pursue his passion for painting. However, after an exhibition in Cologne when he was just 18, he decided to shift his focus to make-up. Two years at Shu Uemura Cosmetics taught him all the basics he needed to succeed as a freelancer. He landed jobs with high-quality fashion magazines, became the ambassador for Shiseido and Jean Paul Gaultier perfumes at the Cannes Film Festival in 2005 and 2006, and was also selected to create the cardboard box design for Sephora’s international make-up line. Having proved his abilities in various ad campaigns, catalogs and fashion shows, he struck out in a new direction in 2013: first as a creative director for various magazines and cosmetics companies, then as the founder of OOB, his international avant-garde beauty magazine. As a beauty expert, he is happy to pass on his knowledge – as of 2017, for instance, in the context of a TV show on the Elle Girl channel.
